Marsala – Capo Boeo

Detail

The underwater itinerary takes you to the ancient port of Lilybaeum, founded by survivors of the siege of Mozia in 397 BC. This port, now submerged, reveals the city’s thousand-year history, with remains dating from the Hellenistic to the late Roman period.

By diving into these waters, you can explore a true archaeological treasure: fragments of ceramics, objects and building elements thrown into the sea by the Vandals or during urban renovations in Roman times. The seabed also holds statues and architectural decorations, evidence of the prosperity of Lilybaeum, which even attracted illustrious personalities such as Cicero.

Discover the underwater riches of Lilybaeum and be transported back in time to the ancient history of Sicily!
