Detail
A holiday full of fun and adventure, but more importantly, children- and teenager-friendly? Mount Etna is the ideal destination!
Don’t miss the trip to the summit craters or the view of the valley in Bova, accompanied by an expert guide. The starting points are: Mount Etna South on the road that leads from Nicolosi to Rifugio Sapienza, at an altitude of 1,920 metres above sea level, and Mount Etna North, which goes from Linguaglossa along the famous strada Mareneve that takes us to Piano Provenzana at an altitude of 1810 metres above sea level.
If you choose Nicolosi, on the southern side of Mount Etna, once you reach the Rifugio Sapienza Square, you can explore the inactive craters of Monti Silvestri on foot, or experience the beauty of a volcanic eruption in the Kinesphere room in 7D, inside the departure station of the Etna cable car.The panoramic Etna cable car takes you to an altitude of about 2500 metres and, with the same ticket, you can reach the Torre del Filosofo by 4×4 which stands 2900 metres above sea level, always accompanied by expert guides. Those who don’t want to climb to the top can have fun near Piano Vetore. In fact, near the Sapienza Refuge, there’s the Etna Adventure Park Serra la Nave, with routes suitable for all ages.

Here, the Etna Park nature trails branch off into small wooden shelters and areas equipped for stops and picnics. The walks on Monti Rossi, the craters and lava hills created from the eruption in 1669, are also suitable for young children because they are not tiring. Here, you can also have fun at the Monti Rossi Adventure Park.
If you choose to climb from Linguaglossa, on the North Etna slope, you’ll find big, fun off-road buses at the Piano Provenzana that will take us in one quick hop to the base of the summit craters, at an altitude of about 3100 metres.
You continue on foot from there and go uphill to the summit craters reaching an altitude of about 3250 metres. You’ll go to the Mount Etna Adventure Park built inside the pine forest of Scarbaglio Park in Milo, in the province of Catania: a series of acrobatic routes, crossings suspended between trees, 15 different trails and 2 climbing walls will test your balance, speed, grit and adventurousness.
The Etna territory is dotted with numerous farms and wineries that open their gates to share their closeness with nature with you. In addition, you can also choose to take a ride on a donkey or get involved in the harvest.
