Pinakothek’A
Detail
From 23 November 2024 until March 2025, the Sant’Elia Foundation in Palermo will host one of the most important exhibitions of the season: Pinakothek’A. From Cagnaccio to Guttuso, from Christo and Jean-Claude to Arienti. The exhibition, set up in the spaces of the prestigious Palazzo Sant’Elia, presents a selection of about two hundred works from the Elenk’Art collection, an artistic corpus documenting the evolution of 20th century art, with an opening towards the contemporary panorama.
Curated by art historians Sergio Troisi and Alessandro Pinto, the exhibition offers an in-depth look at 20th century Italian and international production. Among the protagonists are masters such as Cagnaccio di San Pietro, Donghi, de Chirico, Carrà, Guttuso, and other exponents of informal abstraction and contemporary art, including Afro, Vedova, Christo and Jean-Claude, up to the most current artists such as Stefano Arienti and Luigi Presicce. An entire section is dedicated to Sicilian artists of the last 25 years, with leading names such as Bazan, De Grandi, Di Marco and Daniele Franzella.
The event represents a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in a story that traverses the artistic currents and experiments of an entire century, with an attentive look at the evolution and new languages of contemporary art. A complete catalogue of the collection, published by Kalòs edizioni, will accompany the exhibition.
