Living Crib of Cammarata

At Christmas, the charming village of Cammarata, in the Agrigento area, becomes the natural setting for the performance of the Living Crib. This charming village, perched on a cliff with its houses leaning against each other, has been called the ‘crib- village’ for its particular conformation. Every year, the local community celebrates this tradition with an event that combines religion and folklore, offering visitors a journey into the past and an opportunity to relive ancient arts and crafts.

The 2024 edition of the Living Crib of Cammarata will take place on 22, 26, 28 and 29 December and 1, 5 and 6 January, with admission from 5 to 9 p.m. Along the itinerary, visitors will be able to admire scenes that recreate moments of family and working life in the past, immersing themselves in a magical and sacred atmosphere, where the boundary between human and religious blends harmoniously.
