Dolcemente Castelbuono: the taste of tradition in the heart of the Madonie

On the weekends of 6-8, 14-15 and 31 December 2024, Castelbuono will be transformed into a feast of flavours, culture and tradition with “Dolcemente Castelbuono”. The event dedicated to Sicilian confectionery and craftsmanship excellence celebrates the beauty of the local food and wine tradition.

The absolute protagonist will be the Testa di Turco (Turk’s Head), the famous spoon dessert that combines fried pastry, milk cream flavoured with lemon and cinnamon, telling the story of the Norman victory over the Arabs. This iconic dessert will be offered free of charge, providing a journey through history and flavour.

Strolling through the characteristic illuminated alleys, visitors will discover stalls full of traditional sweets, panettone, biscuits, crepes and local specialities, accompanied by the aroma of mulled wine. There will also be savoury delicacies, celebrating the variety and authenticity of local products.

For those who love gastronomy, the meetings hosted in the SS. Crocifisso church will offer in-depth talks with master pastry chefs and award ceremonies for the best artisans.

An event that envelops the village in a unique Christmas atmosphere, inviting young and old to discover authentic flavours and local craftsmanship. Dolcemente Castelbuono is more than an event: it is a sensorial and cultural journey into the heart of Sicilian traditions.
