In Sicily the main international and intercontinental airports are ‘Fontanarossa‘ (Catania) and Puntaraisi (Palermo); however, international flights arrive at almost all of the island’s smaller airports.
There are many airlines, both traditional and low cost, that travel to Sicily connecting it with the major European countries and with the rest of the world.

Airports websites provide additional information on routes, flight times, prices and availability. More or less all airports are connected to a network of taxis, buses and trains that allow you to reach your final destination.

BY TRAIN

Traveling by train has a special charm.

You can arrive from abroad, by taking an Eurostar to Rome or Naples, and from there take an Express train to Sicily.

There are also Intercity connections from Rome or Milan to Messina, the first Sicilian station.

Or, if you particularly like to travel by train, you will find several express trains that allow you to reach Sicily directly from Turin, Genoa, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence.

Once you arrive at Villa San Giovanni, where the embarkation for the Strait of Messina is located, the train is disassembled and loaded onto the ferries and passengers are boarded for free. During the crossing it is possible to stay on board the train, but we recommend going out on the deck to get some fresh air and start enjoying the Sicilian atmosphere. And if you are lucky, during the journey you may happen to be accompanied by cute dolphins that swim along the sides of the ship.

BY BUS

Many bus companies travel provide to reach the mountain passes and reach Italy.

Those companies offers travel services to/from the main Italian cities as Milano, Roma and Firenze, by travelling in a superb comfortable way. Once you get to these big cities, it is possible to reach Sicily by the connection provided by Italian companies.
