On the Antonellian traces
Detail
The event intends to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 1953 exhibition, set up in Messina by Carlo Scarpa, as well as the 1981 exhibition, which had such a resonance in the press and culture of the time. Particularly interesting is the exhibition including rare period prints, incunabula and manuscripts from the La Corte Cailler Fund: an ideal journey through the history of Antonellian culture. The display of the Modern Book is also extremely interesting, with a vast and heterogeneous itinerary that winds its way through monographs and periodicals, which well illustrate the salient stages of Antonello da Messina and the evolution of his art, emphasising the pictorial innovations that the artist was able to introduce.
The Bibliographic Exhibition will remain open until 26 April 2024, with free admission, during the Library‘s opening hours. Further extraordinary accesses will be announced later with posts on the institutional social networks.
Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday also afternoons 3 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.
