San Calogero Festival Agrigento
Info
The festival in honour of San Calogero in Agrigento combines folklore, tradition and devotion.
The great celebrations begin with the welcome of the pilgrims who arrived at the sanctuary of the “black” Saint barefoot and the procession of the drums.
On Sunday, after the morning firing of firecrackers and the animal fair, the procession of the statue of the Saint runs through the streets from midday to evening, when the fireworks display and torchlight procession take place.
A procession of Sicilian carts and decorated animals and the offer of votive loaves at the Garden of Kolymbethra complete the festivities.
